This engaging book is full of well thought out photography that she uses to illustrate her suggestions on how to grow your audience and develop your brand. This is a reference book that you will turn to when you are looking for inspiration or to learn a new tip to add to your own Instagram account.
The book is set up into sections that take you from the essentials of getting started, to elevating your brand presence.
InstaStyle – Instabasics
This section includes all the brainstorming that goes into the start of your brand look and feel. She has you think about Why Instagram? What you will have to gain, how to determine your mission, and how you will aim for engagement. She also takes you through the steps of creating your account and even introducing you to the language of Instagram.
InstaStyle – Curate
Here you will learn, through a wide variety of photo examples, how to tell your story and stay inspired to stick to your mission. With lots of advice on how to set up photo shoots and how to plan the photo shoot to get images that will complement your brand. Then how to tell your story through your grid.
InstaStyle – Create
Full of tips and tricks, this section gets into the skills and tools of editing. I found the do and don’t advice to be really helpful in this section. This section show examples of how to approach different specialties; food, family, travel, health and fitness and more. So no matter what you business direction goes, you’ll find something to work off of in this section.
InstaStyle – Elevate
What we all want help on, how to optimize your posts to make your audience happy and make your brand stand out. Covering things from affiliate links to building brand relationships. This is the part of the book that I am spending the most time in currently.
Determining your mission is sooo important! It will help you define what type of photos you post, who you want your audience to be, and the voice you will present.
With so much information to help you improve, I am using this book to help me work on goals to keep on improving my Instagram page step by step so it’s not overwhelming. If you are interested in Instagram, you will want to check out this book to make the most of your experience.
